Founded in 2004, University of Mines and Technology is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Tarkwa (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Western Region. Officially recognized by the National Accreditation Board, Ghana (National Accreditation Board of Ghana), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational Ghanaian higher education institution. University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
