Founded in 1950, the University of the Ryukyus (Ryukyu Daigaku) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Nishihara (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Okinawa. This institution also has a branch campus in Nakagusuku and Ginowan.
