Founded in 1988, the Universidad Mayor (Major University) is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Santiago (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Region Metropolitana de Santiago. This institution also has a branch campus in Temuco. Officially recognized by the Comisión Nacional de Acreditación, Chile (National Accreditation Commission), Universidad Mayor (UMAYOR) is a large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational Chilean higher education institution.
