Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) is the premier Science and Technology University in the northern region of the country. The university recognizes the library as the cornerstone of knowledge preservation and dissemination. It plays a pivotal role in facilitating research, curriculum development, and learning processes.

Activities and Facilities:

• The HSTU Library is housed in a well-equipped multi-story building, comprising various sections like Acquisition, Circulation, Processing, and Reference, each serving distinct functions.
• The Administrative section oversees the day-to-day administrative tasks.
• The Acquisition Section diligently collects diverse documents tailored to meet the needs of the users.
• The Circulation section, situated on the ground floor, allows researchers, students, and teachers to borrow books for off-site reading.
• The Processing section undertakes the critical task of cataloging and classifying documents according to the AACR-2 code and D.D.C. scheme.
• The Reference section, spanning the first and second floors, provides access to rare documents, photocopying services, and current awareness updates.
• A cyber center within the library offers computer access to all users for a nominal fee.

The Library's mission is to provide comprehensive resources and services to support the research, teaching, and learning needs of the University community.

To establish a world-class Knowledge Resource Centre and deliver innovative services and collections to the research, teaching, and learning communities through the use of cutting-edge technology.

4. Periodical:
   • Printed Journals: 89 (National and International)
   • E-Journals: HSTU Library has access to over 40 thousand titled e-journals from 35 publishers through various consortiums and digital libraries.
   • E-books: HSTU Library provides access to over 7053 titled e-books covering various subjects through digital libraries.

Library Hours:

The Library is open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and remains closed on university holidays.

Library User Policy:

• A teacher may borrow up to 5 books for 30 days, while a student or researcher may borrow up to 3 books for 20 days at any given time.
• All personal belongings are to be stored in the designated area near the security desk.
• Group study, discussions, eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the Library.
• All students are urged to handle library resources with care and leave them in an orderly manner after use.
• Mobile phones are not permitted inside the Library premises.
• No books shall be issued within the last half-hour prior to closing time.
