Founded in 1934, Tehran University of Medical Sciences is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Tehran (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution also has a branch campus in Kish Island. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Iranian higher education institution. Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
