Overview

Established in 1968, The Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts (HECCMA) is a consortium of 12 colleges and universities located in central Massachusetts, USA. The member institutions are:

1) Anna Maria College
2) Assumption University
3) Becker College
4) Clark University
5) College of the Holy Cross
6) MCPHS University
7) Nichols College
8) Quinsigamond Community College
9) Worcester Polytechnic Institute
10) Worcester State University
11) Worcester Technical High School
12) Worcester Public Schools.

The mission of HECCMA is to promote collaboration and cooperation among member institutions in order to enhance educational opportunities, advance economic development and strengthen the social fabric of central Massachusetts. HECCMA provides a forum for member institutions to exchange ideas and best practices and to work together on joint initiatives and projects.

HECCMA's initiatives include joint academic programs, collaborative research and community outreach projects. For example, HECCMA offers a cooperative program for students to take courses at any of the member institutions, providing greater access to a wider range of educational opportunities. Additionally, HECCMA hosts a series of events, including academic symposia, workshops and public lectures, to promote dialogue and collaboration among member institutions.
