Organization Overview

Established in 1947 and officially recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education, the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Commission on Accreditation is an accrediting agency responsible for accrediting bible institutes, colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The Commission on Accreditation Membership is granted to qualifying institutions that have passed the accreditation process. Currently about 100 higher education institutions are accredited, and therefore COA members, of the Association for Biblical Higher Education. Accreditation is a means of assuring the public that an institution meets accepted accreditation standards of quality and integrity. The ABHE is inter-denominational but requires embracing and periodical affirmation of a common statement of beliefs.
