International Research Universities Network

Overview

The International Research Universities Network (IRUN) is a network of leading research universities from around the world. The network was established in 2007 with the goal of fostering collaboration and innovation among its member institutions.

The founding members of IRUN include the University of Bologna in Italy, the University of Bristol in the UK, the University of Montpellier in France, the University of Münster in Germany, the University of Pune in India and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US.

Today, IRUN has expanded to include a total of eleven member institutions from six continents. The network is committed to advancing research and education in a wide range of disciplines, including the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and engineering.

One of the key goals of IRUN is to promote international collaboration and exchange among its member institutions. This includes joint research projects, faculty exchanges and student exchanges. IRUN also hosts a number of conferences, workshops and other events to promote dialogue and collaboration among its members.

Another important aspect of IRUN's work is to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The network supports the development of new technologies and businesses through its various initiatives and programs.

Considering all this, according to uniRank the International Research Universities Network plays an important role in promoting collaboration and innovation in higher education and research. Its members are among the top research institutions in the world and their collaboration is helping to advance knowledge and tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges.
