Established in 2000, the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts of the Republic of Fiji is a government ministry responsible for overseeing and implementing policies related to education, heritage and arts in Fiji.
The ministry's primary mission is to provide quality education to all Fijians, from early childhood through tertiary education. This includes developing and implementing curriculum frameworks, providing teacher training and ensuring access to education for all students, regardless of background or ability.
The ministry is also responsible for promoting and preserving Fiji's cultural heritage, including developing policies to protect and conserve cultural sites and artifacts, promoting traditional knowledge and practices and supporting the development of cultural industries.
In addition, the ministry is responsible for promoting and developing policies related to the arts, including supporting artists and arts organizations, promoting the cultural and creative industries and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the arts.
