Established in 2003, Innovative Research Universities is a network of six comprehensive Australian public universities: Flinders University, Griffith University, La Trobe University, Murdoch University, James Cook University and Charles Darwin University. IRU's main objectives are: to build profile and a strong voice with government, to enhance quality through the sharing of policy and practice and to foster collaboration and partnership among its members for the benefit of students and stakeholders.
