What are the most popular Universities in Belgium? uniRank tries to answer this question by publishing the 2021 Belgian University Ranking of 63 Belgian higher-education institutions meeting the following uniRank selection criteria:

  • being chartered, licensed or accredited by the appropriate Belgian higher education-related organization
  • offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees)
  • delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face, non-distance education format

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces New

The Kingdom of Belgium is divided into 3 regions: Brussels Capital Region, the Flemish Region (Dutch: Vlaams Gewest) and Walloon Region (French: Wallonie). The last two regions are each subdivided into 5 provinces. The vast majority of higher education institutions meeting the uniRank selection criteria are located in the Brussels Capital Region which is situated in the center of the country. The following uniRank sub-rankings or league tables take into account all provinces which include at least 2 Belgian higher education institutions meeting the uniRank selection criteria.
