What are the most popular Universities in Azerbaijan? uniRank tries to answer this question by publishing the 2021 Azerbaijani University Ranking of 42 Azerbaijani higher-education institutions meeting the following uniRank selection criteria:

  • being chartered, licensed or accredited by the appropriate Azerbaijani higher education-related organization
  • offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees)
  • delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face, non-distance education format

2021 Sub-rankings by districts

The Republic of Azerbaijan is divided into 59 districts (Azerbaijani: rayonlar), 11 cities (Azerbaijani: s?h?rl?r) and 1 autonomous republic (Azerbaijani: muxtar respublika). Rayons are further subdivided into Municipalities (Azerbaijani: B?l?diyy?). The larger number of higher education institutions meeting the uniRank selection criteria are located in the district of Absheron which is situated in the east of the country, hosts Azerbaijan's capital Baku and is the most populated district in Azerbaijan. The following uniRank sub-rankings or league tables take into account all administrative divisions which include at least 2 Azerbaijani higher education institutions meeting the uniRank selection criteria.
