Established in 1992, Africa University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the large town of Mutare (population range: 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Manicaland. Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Zimbabwe, Africa University (AU) is a very small (enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Methodist ((United Methodist Church - www.gbhem.org)) religion. Africa University (AU) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as undergraduate certificates/diplomas, bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 24 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 30-40% making this Zimbabwean higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. AU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sport facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
