Founded in 1991, Klaipedos Universitetas (Klaipeda University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the large town of Klaipeda (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Lietuvos Respublikos vietimo ir mokslo ministerija (English: Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania), Klaipedos Universitetas (KU) is a medium-sized (enrollment range: 8,000-8,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Klaipedos Universitetas (KU) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 25 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Lithuanian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
