Founded in 2002, University of Kerbala is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the large city of Karbala (population range: 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Iraq, University of Kerbala (UOK) is a large (enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Kerbala (UOK) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as undergraduate certificates/diplomas, bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 14 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UOK also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sport facilities and/or activities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
