Founded in 1901, Omdurman Islamic University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the metropolis of Khartoum (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sudan, Omdurman Islamic University (OIU) is a large (enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Omdurman Islamic University (OIU) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 115 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. OIU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sport facilities and/or activities, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.
