Established in 1921, Leyte Normal University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the large town of Tacloban City (population range: 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Eastern Visayas. Officially accredited/recognized by the Commission on Higher Education, Philippines, Leyte Normal University (LNU) is a small (enrollment range: 5,000-5,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Leyte Normal University (LNU) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 95 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations.
