Founded in 1856, Universidad Nacional del Altiplano-Puno (English: National University of the Altiplano) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Puno (population range: 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministerio de Educación, Peru (English: Ministry of Education, Peru), Universidad Nacional del Altiplano-Puno (UNAP) is a small (enrollment range: 2,000-2,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Universidad Nacional del Altiplano-Puno (UNAP) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 160 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. UNAP also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sport facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
