Founded in 1956, Tel Aviv University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the small city of Tel Aviv (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministry of Education, Israel, Tel Aviv University (TAU) is a large (enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Jewish religion. Tel Aviv University (TAU) offers courses and programs leading to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as undergraduate certificates/diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 60 years old HE institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades.
