Established in 1925, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Thessaloniki (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Central Macedonia. This institution also has a branch campus in Serres. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports of Greece, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 45,000-49,999 students) coeducational Greek higher education institution. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
